Apple iTV Release Date: September 2010 Says Digg Founder
Apple iTV Release Date: September 2010 Says Digg Founder – The founder of Digg recently said that Apple’s iTV launch in September will be huge and will change the way that we use the Internet in conjunction with TV. The company announced the upcoming product several months ago after Google announced their own version of a similar product. Kevin Rose, the founder of the popular bookmarking service, said that he has heard the company will be launching the product in September for $99. The product will utilize the iOS operating system.
Rose posted on his blog that he believes that the new product will “change everything” for a number of different reasons. First of all, it will launch TV applications that are written specifically for the television. They will be able to download software to run on the device.
Content providers will be able to provide iTV showers with stations and networks that could change the way that television content is delivered to viewers.
“With Apple’s iAds, content producers (eg. ABC/NBC/etc.) can directly monetize and distribute their content,” he said. He also went on to say that it could eventually destroy the television side of the cable and satellite industry, and that the way to access those stations will one day be exclusively through the Internet.
Rose also said that he heard that the device will make it easy to share pictures and movies with the click of a button. It will be interesting to see how correct his predictions are regarding the device.*Sponsored Links*
