Common Application:Common App – College Online Application Launched – A common application for college admissions went live online today. This will greatly simplify the process of applying to college for individuals who are just leaving high school. Previously, you had to fill out a separate application for each individual school. Sometimes, the applications can be very different from one another, which makes the process very time consuming, and can limit the number of applications that an individual is able to send out.
This marks the end of the summer vacation for many individuals that are looking to apply for college. The Common Application is a non-profit organization that provides the application both in print and online.

When submitted, it will go to one of the 414 schools that take part in the program. 47 of them are public institutions. It can be used as a great way to cut down on the amount of time that you have to spend filling out applications when you are looking to head off to college.
When the application was originally created in 1975, it was hoped that it would become the standard and make the admissions process much easier for each student. Many colleges still require additional information, such as an essay, before they are willing to admit anyone to their school.
However, this application makes it easy to get your name on the radar of a number of different schools that are looking to admit new students. Look over the list of schools that are included and accept the application, and see if any of them fit your needs.
