Dick Costolo New Twitter CEO : Replaces Evan Williams
Dick Costolo New Twitter CEO : Replaces Evan Williams – Twitter appears to be in good hands, with a new CEO and a change of direction for the company. According to Evan Williams, he is a product CEO. Williams knows how to get a product, and make it succeed and become a recognised brand. Williams co-founded Pyra Labs, the creators of Blogger, in 1999 and ran it until its acquisition by Google in 2003. Williams took up the position of Twitter CEO in 2008, and grew the company into an 165 million user powerhouse with 300 employees and a billion dollar valuation position. Williams took over from Jack Dorsey, after he stepped down.
Helping out Williams in his role is Dick Costolo, who is experienced, and successful, in helping companies to raise their revenue. Costolo was a consultant at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) for seven years, and also CEO of FeedBurner, before it’s acquisition by Google in 2007. Costolo’s proven track record shows he knows how to grow business revenue.
Previously, Twitter’s aim was to get its name out there, get it’s brand out there. Focusing just on that area, it succeed in working itself into the everyday lives of so many people, and being used by media sources and celebrities all around the world. It is hoped that the addition of Costolo will now help to raise revenue for the company, utilising its powerful and large base of users and household name.*Sponsored Links*
