Disney Buys iPhone Game Maker Tapulous
Disney Buys iPhone Game Maker Tapulous – iPhone, iPod Touch and now iPad games have become extremely popular over the course of a few years. What many predicted never being possible has now become a reality. Mobile phone games have become incredibly advanced allowing users to play games on their iPhones with the graphics and quality that some handheld consoles can’t even produce. The iPod Touch allows for the same games available on the iPhone but the iTouch is not a phone but rather an mp3 player for music. The iPad introduced portable gaming into Apple’s “laptop replacement” product. The iPad has amazing capabilities in portable gaming and it features a large, HD screen with touch screen functionality that improves upon anything we’ve seen before.
The Walt Disney Company has undoubtedly caught on to the vastly growing game empire that Apple has created within their iTunes Applications library. They said on Thursday that they bought out Tapulous, who are the makers of many very popular games for the iPhone. They also purchased their famous touch to the music game known as Tap Tap Revenge. Disney wants to touch into the mobile games genre and getting behind a product like the iPhone is an excellent way to do so. Their plan is to focus on creating many successful games for the iPhone, iPad and even the iTouch which have all emerged into mobile gaming platforms. Tapulous has an amazing 30 million users that have downloaded the game on Apple devices. Disney plans to improve upon the idea that Tapulous had already started, making their games more fun, more capable and ultimately more enjoyable.
