Droid X Bandwidth Problem?
Droid X Bandwidth Problem? – According to a company executive, the Motorola Droid X is the biggest bandwidth hog around at the moment. “On Droid X, we’re seeing something like 5x the data usage of any other device”. This was the statement made by Jennifer Byrne, the Business Development Executive Director for Verzion. However, since the comment was made at the paidContent Mobile conference on Tuesday, a lot of people have stood up to show their opposition to the statement. One thing that has been brought up a lot is the fact that there are a lot of high powered Verzion smart phones available at the moment, and some of them are sure to use just as much bandwidth.
It is true that there has been a significant rise in data since the release of the Droid X. However, there are many other models such as the Droid Incredible, and the Droid Eris that some critics are claiming are using the same amount of data. The phones have been popular for a long period of time, and the rise in bandwidth being used could also be due to the rise in popularity of Verzion smart phones, and not necessarily the phone model itself. Only time will tell. It seems that everyone has an opinion on Jennifer Byrne’s statement, and it looks to stay that way for a while. While there are new smart phones on the market, there are always going to be increases and decreases in certain bandwidth usage.
