Facebook Down – DNS Failure Behind Facebook Outage
Facebook Down – DNS Failure Behind Facebook Outage – Was Facebook hacked? There is a possibility that the social network was attacked because millions of users were complaining that they are not able to access their accounts and have been receiving an error message that reads “DNS Failure” for several hours on Thursday September 23rd 2010.
The site which has about 500 million users worldwide may have been hit by hackers just like Twitter that was targeted by few individuals few hours ago.
But the great news is that the issue has been fixed after what is called “the longest Facebook outage” took place.
Facebook Software Engineering Director Robert Johnson took some time to explain what happened saying that a third-party networking provider caused the downtime without going into further details.*Sponsored Links*
