The same way Obama is paying for government health care, cap and trade, car company bailout, insurance company bailout, etc. etc. Money grows on trees in Washington, doen’t it?

No new taxes. Why doesn’t Rangle pay up – also the Secretary of Treasurer – they have not paid their taxes. If I did not pay mine I would be in jail.Obama continues to party with $100 a pound steak from Japan. Absolutely disgusting.
If the public would be interested in paying for the war through taxes – the money would go into administrative pockets. New homes, cars, etc. would pop up. For certain. So Shep – NO more taxes. Why doesn’t Congress contribute the millions they have snared through deals.
Congressmen are thieves – majority are dishonest. Get the 300 million back from LA. Anothere dishonest deal. We are aware of double dealing congressmen – so they can all go to hell.

So funny to see the two attorneys arguing on your show a short moment ago. I was waiting for you to mediate between the two of them, but had to laugh when the camera spotted you trying to find a good email to read instead:) NO way should the wealthy people have to pay for a troop surge. I don’t have the answers, that’s what our folks in Washington get paid to do. However, they can do better than coming up with more taxes!

I thought we are suppose to being living in a Democracy that treated all fairly. I’m certainly not rich but do not think they should be singled out to pay for the war. Maybe if we had a President and congress that were more interested in keeping Americans working and not wasting billions on the bail out that has already proved to be nothing but a spending bing of power we would have the money to pay for the war. Now he and his far left group wants to put us in deeper pain and debt with a health care that know one understands and most don’t want. No I don’t have one answer how to pay, but lets go back to conserative leadership and that will be the begining.

Stop the Health Care Reform Bill. No more “bail outs”. No more stimulus money given away. Stop pork barrel add ons to bills being passed. Conserve this waste of money and sufficient funds would pay for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Fire the “carzs” to save money.
martha Johnson | Nov 24, 2009 | Reply
you asked how the war should be paid for if not a tax on the rich…. The govt. could SAVE all the money they claim they will save by cutting out fraud from medicare, etc. NOW instead of overhauling the whole health system. They have said how many billions they can save…so let them do it
Richard Amann | Nov 24, 2009 | Reply
We should have MANY specific taxes.
A tax that pays for Social Security (properly), a tax that pays for the department of education and education programs, a tax for the military and this war and more We should all get tax bills showing where the money is going.
Until this happens we need to stop all the stimulus spending and put it into the Afghanistan War. To help the effort – if not pay for it – all Congressional salaries and perks should be stopped, with that money going into the deficit.
EdCarr | Nov 24, 2009 | Reply
Do not increase taxes for the war or ANYTHING ELSE. REDUCE TAXES AND CUT SPENDING.
To support the war take two steps:
1. Use the remainder of the TARP funds
2. Greatly accelerate collection of unpaid taxes and add fines of 1000%. Government workers who should know better should pay fines of 2000% and lose their jobs for life.

We have sat here most of the day and listened to both sides try to convince us, the American people as to the validity of this Health Care Bill. Although we may argree with some, ie; Insurance reform, Tort reform to name a couple, our elected officials are, not all, totally inept. We don’t need this healthcare bill. What we need is a bill that addresses the health of the people in this country. We agree that this bill needs to be SCRAPPED and they need to start all over again. The president (purposely not capitalized) and his henchmen had better wake up and listen to the American people. We WILL be heard and they will listen. They don’t have to pay for their healthcare and they have the best that we have to offer. I am a veteran and I am provided healthcare(TRICARE) that I have earned. It was not just handed to me. Yes, there are those that just can’t afford to buy healthcare insurance. Help those. I could go on. The bottom line is SCRAP this and start over.
Rick Leonard | Feb 25, 2010 | Reply
OK, today’s health care theater is just that; however there are some avenues explored that need to be traveled. Without excessive new government spending, let’s authorize, via congressional vote, the existing agencies to crack down and eliminate medical (primarily Medicare/Medicaid) fraud, frivolous lawsuits, benefits for illegal immigrants, highly varying drug costs (US versus foreign prices for identical drugs), etc. These areas of savings can be applied to the Medicare and Medicaid funding problem in the short term but more importantly, taking the time to design, implement and bring to fruition these simple and necessary reforms will show the American public that congress is not only serious in fixing the problem but capable of nationwide confidence building in the process. Attacking these and other contributing factors to the debacle called health care reform will provide positive steps while allowing a nearly three thousand page, unmanageable and mostly misunderstood document to be redesigned and renogiated to actually accomplish reform. It is not totally starting over just because you start writing good and agreeable ideas on a clean sheet of paper. It is merely the only way to break this log jamb in the interest and desire of the American citizens, not the public, the actual citizens that have a legal opinion, vote and entitlement. While tackling the aforementioned fraud, tort, etc. issues, open up to the private insurance industry the ability to design policies appropriately geared toward reform and made available across state lines and watch them jump to offer products in a competitive market environment that will satisfy many of the current shortfalls in the private pay, small business, self-employed, etc. spectrum. By the way, look at the number of jobs that could be created, much less saved,by putting the ball in the public domain.

Why add trillions of dollars to our debt when the last debacle — the stimulus bill — has proven to be riddled with wasteful spending, limited projects and other perks for congressmen and their constituents. I can only imagine what 2,400 pages of supposed medical reform will mean to the average American and our current healthcare, economy, and future. Going to the doctor will be like dealing with the IRS — I guess there will be new jobs created – people that know how to naigate the system! Now that I think about it — maybe it is a jobs bill!!! Before I give my thoughts on todays Health Care meeting, let me preface by saying I am and have been a Democrat all my life. I’m 64.
Today was just a “show” on the part of President Obama and the Democrats to pretend they were reaching out to the Republicans. They had no intention of giving any real consideration to anything the Republicans said – it is still “we know what is best, we have the plan, like it or not, you are going to get this as your health care reform”.
One party does not have all the answers and I am afraid they will realize their mistake this fall when Americans show them they have listened to the American people – have followed their own agenda. Maybe then they will realized, if we have gone to far, that THE PEOPLE still matter, we have the power and we give it to them as a trust to use. I know I will be one of the Americans voting to show them the “voice and power of the people”.
Our President and the Democrats are just arrogant and it really upsets me. Makes them look small, narrow minded and quite honestly
totally out of touch with America.

I only heard tidbits of the debate, but I think Mr Obama kind of set the tone with his childlike response to Senator McCain, in trying to completely ignore some valid points the Senator was trying to put forward. Frankly I think the president owes Senator McCain and the American people an appoligy for his stupid and insulting remarks

I find it so hard to believe that our tax dollars went to pay those clowns today! They remind me of children about 10 years old having an argument. It is embarassing that people all over the world could have witnessed “our leaders” at work! This ol Mississippi gal was taught better than those clowns, for sure!

Hi Shep!
Just a short note on my opinion on the health care debate today.
Did the president ever take Management classes!! He needs them. I have never seen such a mess of grown people arguing about nothing. We have told our views that we do not want this health care bill to go through but still one side does not listen and neither does the president. They seem to think we like to increase our out of control deficit. If they want to cut some of their parties and air plane rides to pay for this health care bill then some of us ignorant people that don’t understand might listen but until then forget it. Also for a president of our United States of america why is he so rude to one side and not the other. I am an independent. Can the president not grow up and listen deeply to all sides of this problem, including the people’s side. I agree with alot of people, this was just a waste of time. Thank you Shep.

The current bill that has passed will raise our taxes and we, the people will not receive any benefits for 4 years. I do not believe any American would pay a car note without receiving any use out of the car. Also, any moron can raise taxes and reduce benefits but it takes a remarkable President and Congress to think outside the box and come up with a health care bill that is a pill suitable all Americans can swallow.

Now for my mother’s opinion on this health care debate. The Medicare has already cut programs out of their coverage, physical therapy. They will no longer cover physical therapy for adults. Policy with the state of MIssouri if Medicare don’t cover it they won’t cover it. So now there is no one around to help her walk and strenthen her legs so that she can walk. Is this the start of cuts already. I personally cannot get physical therapy either unless I want to pay out of pocket. This problem has been going on for a long time and everyone knew it but they expect to solve it in once session. They are living in a dream world. I love America but can we cut out some of the fireworks that is spent each year to help people pay for their needs. Can we cut some of the trees in the White House for decorations at Christmas to help oay for these medical needs. Can we stop the air plane rides taken by congress to help pay for some of these needs? Why raise taxes and we pay for it? I barely make it month by month as it is. Now you want me to cut out more of my food to pay for more taxes for you!!!! Are they crazy??

A typical O’boma show… He could care less about the American people. It’s all about him.
We can only hope that the people will see through this dog and pony show and vote against everyone who is in congress and senate now that voted for the health care bill. we need to clean out the dead wood in there.

With the Federal and State budgets in such bad shape how come nobody ever mentions all of the ILLEGALS in this country. I am not just talking about Hispanics but all Illegals.(When you mention ILLEGALS the Hispanics get bent out of shape) We pay for ILLEGALS to go to college, pay for their schooling, and pay for them to go to the emergency room in the hospitals because they have no medical. Not to forget those in incarceration.I cant get anyone to pay for my bills. I worked for everything I have !

You know, if obama’s health care bill is so good, and he says the “AMERICAN” public wants it, why doesn’t he put it up for the AMERICAN
public to vote on!! After all, we are the ones that have to live with. Then he might realize
what the AMERICAN people want. We need to fix the bad things, not completly overhaul the whole thing. We have the best health care there is, it just needs a little fixing.

This man out and out lied about “HIS HEALTH CARE” Did anyone catch that. It wasn’t the health care bill it was HIs Health Care. Think about it. He has personalized this. He is determined to get this pass at any and all expense. IT doesn’t matter that the American People don’t want this. He is going to push this through by violating the Constitution.

What do I think about the Health Care bill passing? I am sick about it. Guess I will need a doctor? huh. Next on the agenda is of all darn things, Cap and Trade. Not jobs, oh, I forgot, green jobs for all.

We have a penal code law in Texas that would permit the filing of charges against anyone who enters your residence or other property univited. It is called BURGLARY. One can intentionally insert a pencil, screwdriver, finger, camera etc., whatever and it can be determined as illegal entry if this method was used uninvited. Check it out!

Why is it against the law for anyone to bribe to get votes in local elections or to get a work contract with the city and/or other contracts, when it is ok for the President to bribe members of Congress to vote on bills he wants passed. Seems to me, that bribery is bribery, no matter who does it or where it happens.

A tax increase is a tax increase. An increase in taxes on the rich, will have a nominal effect (if any) on the money needed. The set back is a tax increase on the rich is a foot in the door on increasing the taxes on the middle and lower class tax basis. The government needs to STOP spending money. The government NEEDS to lower the money it spends.

Shep, I have been with you and agreed on most thing you have said but, today you really let me and others down when you showed your ignorance about the discipline problem in our schools.
My father told me, “If you get a whipping in school, you will get one when you get home.” I told my children the same thing and none of us had a problem with the teachers.
Neither you nor the parents of the boy in question were there, yet, they are rushing to sue the school.
How did it hurt the boy for the teacher to take the stance she did?
The boy said that he would go to school but not to that one. Obviously he is used to making the decisions as to what he will or not do.
Educate yourself about what is going on in the class room before you shout down one of your invited guests.
You are really loosing me. Cass Phillips

Regarding Lindsay Lohan, Take it from someone in recovery from drugs and alcohol~no amount of jail or rehab or pretty much anything offered or imposed will work until she has hit her bottom. And the bottom has nothing to do with any outside circumstances. It must come from inside her, she must want it more than anything else. You have a colleague (G.B.), who knows this to be true. Thanks
