iOS 4.0.2: Apple Releases New Software to Plug Security Flaw
iOS 4.0.2: Apple Releases New Software to Plug Security Flaw – Those with an iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G or 2nd or 3rd generation iPod Touch might have suffered a security hack from a third party source through the browser feature. If you haven’t, you have probably heard horror stories from people who have.
Apple has, thankfully, announced that this will be a problem of the past aft releasing their new iOS 4.0.2 software that is designed to close the gap that allows hackers to break into your data via the browser built into the operating system.
Jailbreaking is still available for non-approved apps, which was announced last month to be legal, though Apple didn’t appear thrilled by the idea of the loss of revenue.
For all those with affected devices, you can find the iOS 4.0.2 on iTunes for free download, and from there the install is simple. Just access through your browser like you normally would, and let it log in through your OS and activate.
For the iPad, download the iOS 3.2.2 through iTunes, as well.*Sponsored Links*
