Motorola i1 on Boost Mobile – The Motorola i1 has become one of the most popular prepaid phones in a short amount of time. Most of the time prepaid phones are simple, and look like a phone you might have owned six or seven years ago. While the Motorola i1 does have a bit of a dated look to it, it is much more advanced than your average prepaid phone. It is advanced enough to be considered a smartphone, and is the first Google Android phone that will be available on Boost Mobile.
The Motorola i1 is a strong phone that can stand up to even the most violent drops. It is a touch screen, unlike many prepaid phones, and is the only Android phone that supports push-to-talk, which makes the phone attractive to Boost and Nextel customers.

Android 1.5 comes with the phone, which is an older version of the operating system, but is still a step in the right direction for the company. Motorola has reportedly considered releasing a software update for the phone in the future, should sales continue to rise.
While the Motorola i1 is not the best Android phone for the money, it will appeal to a certain subset of smartphone users who operate on Boost or Nextel. It is currently available for $349.99, and please keep in mind that the price does not obligate you to sign a contract with Boost Mobile.
It will be interesting to see if prepaid smartphones become commonplace. So far, no company has ventured into the prepaid smartphone arena, but the Motorola i1 is a step in the right direction.
