MySpace Privacy Settings Simplified
MySpace Privacy Settings Simplified – MySpace, taking a hint from the recent problems that have surrounded Facebook, has decided to simplify their privacy settings in order to allow users to keep the information that they place on their profiles more private. The plans were announced today that they were planning on simplifying the privacy settings for all of their users. They are apparently attempting to take back some of the users that recently have left to website for the more popular Facebook. Recently, Facebook has had numerous privacy problems that have caused a number of users to leave the service. It does seem a little bit odd though, that such a large deal was made over the recent Facebook problems, and the Twitter bugs of recent weeks actually exposed a lot more information about their users.
The social networking platform has been struggling for quite some time. The Wall Street Journal said in their article regarding the new privacy settings that the users will have the option to select a privacy setting for all of their information, instead of having to select a different setting for each area that they have filled in in their profile.
“Given all the noise in the industry, we want to get out and state a clear position so that our users understand that we take privacy very seriously,” MySpace co-president Mike Jones told the Journal.
