We MUST see more of Susan Boyle! How can we do this? I would like to hear her again. Thanks for making this happen.

I have wanted for a long time to hear GOOD news on the nightly news shows rather than only the doom and gloomm. When you began the segment on “making a difference”, some good news each night, I was thrilled. Tonight you did not have that segment. I hope that you have not forsaken doing this segment but plan on doing it on a regular, forever basis. It is necessary to lift the spirits of the populace. Don’t let us down by abandoning this good news.

PLEASE keep the making a difference segment on the nightly news. It is needed, not just in hard times but for all times.

The segment on making a difference is a great piece. I’d like to see you keep doing this every night on a regular basis, not just on a temporary basis.

Making a Difference is a great piece. Please keep it as a regular part of your broadcast.

I enjoy your nightly news report on how people are helping one another in these hard times. My husband and I found ourselves unemployed my husband has been out of work for three years, I have been unemployed for a year and a half. Family want help, however, we have found a church that has helped a lot; they not only help us financially but spiritually. I don’t know what our family would do without this church.I try to give back my volunteering

If, God forbid, a pandemic should occur world wide, would there be enough money to pay all of those death benefits? Would all of the insurance companies go belly-up?

Thinking about North Korea and all of the hysteria floating around about it:

Shortly after Russia detonated its 1st nuclear device Harry Truman announced in a statement on September 24, 1949

“Ever since atomic energy was first released by man, the eventual development of this new force by other nations was to be expected.”

He has certainly proven to be correct.

On 6′2 news there was an extensive story on Mrs. Reagan visiting the White House. There was a reference to her attending the signing ceremony of a bill. While there was much time devoted to her opinions of and communications with President Obama, there was no explanation of what the bill did. What happened to the basics of journalism:what, who, when, where and why? I want to know about the bill not the soap opera. Information please!

Besides Brian, Lester Holt is my favorite news-reader. Great voice! Not so with Ron Allen, with that high pitched voice. Anne Curry is fine, too, but not as easy to listen to as Lester.

I’m sorry Brian but WHY must you keep thrusting your hands forward and cocking your head like you’re begging us to believe you when we’re supposed to be trusting the news is true. This is some nervous thing that comes off very unprofessional. When you interviewed th President he sat there poised and you were leaning in like you were ready to dunk a basketball or something. It looked amateurish. I wish you’d not drag out sentences on one breath til I almost feel we’ll have to resuscitate you. It comes off monotonous.
I’m an NBCer from time eternal and I like Lester and Ann who give us the news without distractions and I like Brian BUT! At least the other night Chuck Todd wasn’t flailing his hands all around. Thanks for listening!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoy your “Making a Difference” segment of the nightly news. Thanks for such a wonderful segment. We have so many “unflappable” Americans that just keep on serving others despite their economic situation. We’d like to “nominate” a service in Gary, Indiana called “Sojourner Truth House” that serves women in need. There are four Catholic sisters that serve as well as staff and volunteers. It might be worth your while to talk with these wonderful people!

    Sincerely,
    Jeff and Jane Edwards

You have been showing great stories on “Making a Difference” and I have one for your. I am a Nascar race fan and there is no finer story than what Kyle Petty has done at Victory Junction in North Carolina. All race fans know what a wonderful camp this is for sick children. Maybe you could check this out to show how much the drivers give back. This would be one of those great stories.

what are the space station’s orbital paths over the u.s. tonight and what times? (7/26/09)

I could not believe my ears tonight. You closed your newscast with an announcement for a new division of NBC news. I didn’t catch the name of the new service but did understand that is for black viewers. I thought segregation ended years ago! What are you people doing? I will add NBC news to an ever growing list of news shows I will not watch.

  18. Donald Jr. | Aug 8, 2009 | Reply

Wow I can’t believe my eyes. Eleanor Tunney , with all due respect you sound so hypocritical. You will opt not to watch NBC news simply because they want to air a show favoring a black agenda , how sad. Ma’am this could not possibly be seen as segregation , as I’m sure anyone with an open-mind would find it interesting. I suggest you look at the show , you may learn something. There are a lot of misconception’s about us , that we want the world to address. Now is that so bad or are our issues that uninteresting? It sure seem’s to gain a lot of attention when we receive negative press. You know , your response remind’s me more of a segregated past , than a show about our special-interest. It’s as though you don’t want anything worthwhile done on our behalf. What a shame!!!!!

Mr. Williams, I would like you to give an accounting of our losses (Personal) in Iraq, Afganistan and also the price of a barrel of oil in your Broadcast at least three times a week. With your stock market report. You know we are getting hammered on the price of Fuel.
    Thank you for your time.

Mr. Williams 2 Questions: 1.) Will there be a provision in the Baucus bill to prevent the insurance companies from raising their rates to offset the fees they will have to pay as stated in his bill? 2) Who will pay the hundreds of millions of dollars for the flu shots the public MUST have? Maybe our tax dollars?? Do the drug companies use this money to finance the bulletins we hear on TV and read in our newspapers that are designed to keep the public in a panic over the flu “pandemic”? Also, it should be explained, that a pandemic generaly pertains to world wide, whereas epidemic usually refers to a particular area. It could be stated that there is a POTENTIAL for an epidemic or pandemic. Please comment on this even if I’m completely wrong.
