Twitter is supposed to triple its total advertising revenue in 2011, potentially generating as much as $250 million by 2012 which is a figure taken from the projection made by a certain research firm.

This is one of the most recent valuations of the social networking company that has been valued at a total of $3.7 billion, an impressive figure even in comparison to websites like Facebook.

Back in September of 2010 Twitter had a total of 175 million users and is just one of the very popular social networking sites on the web along with the likes of Zynga, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

There is no doubt that investors are watching the online companies to see if any shares eventually go to the public.
