Verizon iPhone Release Date – It has been no secret that Verizon (among other phone carriers) has been interested in acquiring the iPhone rights, and allowing them to release the hugely popular phone on their own platform. Many have speculated for years about different release dates that the phone could potentially have or not have on other carriers, but the most prominent rumor in recent days seems to be that the iPhone will be coming to Verizon sometime in June 2010. When it became apparent that the iPhone would not be able to reach the deadline that many of the rumors had been reporting, the rumors switched to fall of this year. Although no deal is currently in place, many speculate that the change in the release date could be related to the iPhone 4G.

Reports this week have surfaced that the iPhone 4G underwent several successful tests for the 4G Verizon. The deployment of the phone through Verizon could take several months, and quite a bit of coordination on both ends. The iPhone 4G will be reportedly much faster than the previous versions of the phone, and will feature several different features that were not included in previous released of the iPhone. The exclusivity deal with AT&T will run out in the third quarter of this year, leaving many to speculate whether or not Apple would be looking to take their hugely popular phone to other carriers in order to increase sales. Apple has not commented on the rumors that the iPhone will be looking for a new home in the coming months, and has likely been far too pressed with the upcoming release of the Apple iPad, which reportedly sold over 120,000 units on the first day that the device was available.
