Verizon iPhone Rumors
Verizon iPhone Rumors – A new rumor has been making the rounds regarding Apple’s iPhone. The latest rumor is that Apple will be mass producing a CDMA iPhone, which is to be similar to the iPhone 4, but running a Qualcomm chip. This phone is said to be made in conjunction with the network carrier Verizon. According to the report, the phone is meant to be released early 2011.
Verizon Wireless president and chief executive Lowell McAdam was asked about this rumor while at the CTIA trade show in San Francisco, McAdam refused to comment, saying only “This is one of those things that rolls out every few weeks whether there’s a basis for it or not,” McAdam said. “I can’t really give you any insight … I think Apple is the one who has to make that announcement.”
The CDMA network is currently running, however it’s got such a limited life left that it made not be worth all the hassle and effort. Verzion are focused on it’s 4G rollout across 38 U.S. cities by year’s end and reach all subscribers with 4G by the end of 2013, he said. This network is known as the LTE, or Long Term Evolution network. It is more likely for Apple and Verzion to team up for it’s 4G network, not the CDMA network.
“I expect at some point in time our business interests are going to align, and I think LTE is another great reason why [Apple would] want to have a device or tablet” on Verizon, McAdam said.*Sponsored Links*
