WePad Tablet Neofonie
WePad Tablet Neofonie – It looks as though Neofonie will be releasing an alternative to the iPad. The tablet, which will be named WePad, is expected to rival Apple’s iPad. The tablet itself will be about the same size as the iPad. The screen will measure 1..6 inches, with a 1366 x 768 pixel display. The pad will also run using applications, very similar to the way that the iPad allows the user to download applications from Apple’s App Store. The new App Store will be called the WePAD App Store, and is rumored to allow users to access the Google Android App market. It is not clear if Neofonie will be developing their own apps, or simply allowing their users to tap into already existing mobile app libraries. It has been speculated that consumers can expect to pay much less for the WePad than they would for the iPad.
The iPad has received a large amount of great press in recent days and weeks, and reportedly sold over 120,000 units on the first day that the iPad was available for purchase. These figures were confirmed by Apple shortly after they were released. The iPad features access to the large Apple App Store that also provides applications for several other Apple devices including the iPhone and the iPod. Apple has yet to comment on the recent WePad announcement. It is not expected that the WePad will be any serious competition for the iPad, which has reportedly been selling exceptionally well since pre-orders for the device first came open. It is unclear at this point when the WePad will be open for the public to purchase, but many insiders have reported that Neofonie would like to get the device out as soon as possible to compete with the second or third versions that are released for the iPad.
